NAACP Providence to Honor Community Service and Civil Rights Avtivism
Awards to be presented during 96th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner
During the 96th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner, being held Friday, October 23, 2009 at the Providence Marriott Hotel, the Providence Branch NAACP will honor various individuals who have been recognized for their service to the community and civil rights activism. Awards being received are the Thurgood Marshall Award, the Roy Wilkins Award, the George Lima Award, and various Community Service Awards.
Honorees will include the Honorable Joseph S. Almeida, State Representative; Honorable William C. Clifton, Sr., Judge of the Rhode Island District Court; Honorable Gordon D. Fox, State Representative and House Majority Leader; Lieutenant Wilfred K. Hill, Rhode Island State Police; Dean David A. Logan of the Roger Williams Law School; and Cynthia Scott, Partnership Specialist for the Boston Regional Census Office, who is based in the Providence, RI office.
Ticket donation to attend the Freedom Fund Dinner is $50.00 per person for general public, $100.00 corporate members.
